Cow Parade Postcards
This great postcard set was issued in 2000 as an advertisement for CowParade, the "Worlds Largest Public Art Event". One card shows three cows in Manhattan's Central Park including a Frisbee playing cow, a bumble bee cow and a basketball cow.
From June 15, 2000 through Labor Day life size cow sculptures which were place in dozens of public locations around New York City. Each cow was decorated by a different artist. New York City was the second city to host the event, after Chicago in 1999.
The event later traveled to over 50 cities including London (2002), Tokyo (2003), and Brussels (2003). Dublin (2003), Prague (2004), and Stockholm (2004), Mexico City (2005), Sao Paulo (2005), Buenos Aires (2006), Boston (2006) Paris (2006), Milan (2007, and Istanbul (2007).
