Lunchtime atop a Skyscraper, New York 1932
Hamilton Wright Photographer
The postcard shown here has the classic image of the eleven steel or iron workers sitting on a metal beam high atop a skyscraper and casually having their lunch.
The workers are building what is now the GE Building (formerly known as the RCA Building). In 1932, when the photo was taken, the building was known as Radio City. This is a different building than the current Radio City Music Hall. Both buildings are part of modern day Rockefeller Center however.
The original image was taken by Hamilton Wright.
